New Board Members are Elected
(Saint Paul, Minn.) - At its November 6, 2007, board meeting, the trustees of the F. R. Bigelow Foundation elected Heidi R. Gesell and Susan J. Sands to serve on its board. Carolyn Brusseau and Edward Pendergast were re-elected as chair and vice chair respectively. Sally Patterson was elected treasurer.Heidi R. Gesell, president and CEO of BankCherokee, brings 25 years of professional experience, community service and philanthropy to her position with the F. R. Bigelow Foundation. BankCherokee has a long history of supporting the Saint Paul community and has partnered with several organizations including Neighborhood House, Community Neighborhood Housing Services on the West Side and Habitat for Humanity. Additionally, Gesell serves on the Board of the Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library and is co-chair of its Corporate Partnership Committee.Susan J. Sands, owner of S & B Properties, brings to the board more than 35 years as an entrepreneur and community leader. Sands is the co-founder of the Minnesota Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and currently serves on the boards of Western Bank and the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches. Most notably, she is the current chair of the Board of Trustees of the Jeremiah Program.
