Feeding neighbors, nourishing spirits

Open Arms of Minnesota is the only organization of its kind to make and deliver free meals that are tailored to the nutritional needs of individuals with life-threatening illnesses, including breast cancer, multiple sclerosis and dozens of other diseases. Originally serving five men suffering from HIV/AIDS who had become too ill to shop and cook for themselves, Open Arms grew over the years to a volunteer force of more than 1,900 people.

A $35,000 grant from the F. R. Bigelow Foundation helps Open Arms expand its weekend delivery service into Dakota, Ramsey and Washington counties, adding 50 new clients that will receive warm, healthy meals. Visit the website.
