City of Saint Paul - Central CorridorCity of Saint Paul received a grant of $250,000 for design and implementation of its Central Corridor Development Strategy. The Central Corridor Light Rail Transit Line will connect downtown Saint Paul to downtown Minneapolis, running primarily down the center of University Avenue.

The scope of this community-based planning process addresses issues such as housing, urban design and transit-oriented development, as well as defining a community vision for the area.

To ensure a high level of public engagement, Mayor Chris Coleman appointed a Central Corridor Task Force consisting of 17 members representing area businesses, district councils, advocacy organizations and community leaders to work with city staff and consultants to develop the strategy.

This grant was used to help finance the costs of the consultants, Urban Strategies, from Toronto, Canada.
